The Irishman

Those who enjoyed the iconic scene of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in 'Heat' can rejoyce as now we can see the two actors playing together again, this time under the direction of Martin Scorsese.
'The Irishman' is like a best-of by Martin Scorsese, tackling his favourite subjects: religion, dying, penitence and crime. Thanks to Netflix he didn't have to make compromises this time as he had the necessary budget and this way he could realize his vision to the fullest. The plot evolves around the slaying of Jimmy Hoffa, an American labor union leader. The movie is not just a stylish gangster film but a representation of American history in the 20th century, and also a poignant drama about ageing and isolation.
