The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle

In the past few years we could mainly see Robert Downey Jr as Ironman, but last year he left the Marvel Universe for good. The new phase in his career starts with a role based on a popular character of British children's literature.
Like Ironman, Dr. John Dolittle also has a superpower: he can talk to animals and understands them. The plot is set in 19th century England, where Dolittle lives a lonely and secluded life since the death of his beloved wife. He is not completely lonely though, because he shares his home with various exotic animals. His peace is disturbed when Queen Victoria falls ill, and the state needs help: Dolittle must go on a journey to find medicine for the Queen, and his furry/fluffy/scaly friends will all help him along the road. A colorful family adventure with CGI animals, question is, will the charisma of Robert Downey Jr be enough to boost another franchise?
